New in This Release
Artifact lifecycle configuration enhancement
To ensure data integrity in Activate, we enhanced Artifact configuration to prevent users from including submission-related flags in a document lifecycle. Configuration Designer will now display an error if users include "Submission approval activity" or "Submit submission activity" flags when creating or saving a document artifact. The new error message is: "Please select a lifecycle compatible with a document artifact."
Additionally, if a user launches the Lifecycle edit form for a lifecycle that is already associated to at least one document artifact (including a document for a country currently scoped out of the configuration), the form will no longer include "Submission approval activity" or "Submit submission activity" flags as selectable options, as these options will be invalid for the document lifecycle.
To help users distinguish between multiple artifacts that may have unique lifecycles, we enhanced Collections to display the lifecycle associated with an artifact. Now, when users open the collections pop-in, the list of artifacts that can be used in the collection displays, and for each artifact the lifecycle displays in brackets [ ].
Success and error message improvements
With this release, we updated the Bulk delete feature to now display a success message when bulk deletion completes. When completed, the grid now automatically refreshes with the original bulk delete criteria (i.e., configuration, tab, and same grid page).
We enhanced the Audit log interface to provide explicit error messages when a user enters invalid dates. The messages are:
- Maximum date range is 30 days - User selected an invalid range greater than 30 days
- End date must be after the start date - User selected an end date previous to the start date
- Dates selected cannot be in the future - User selected a start or end date that is tomorrow or in the future
- Minimum date range is one day - User selected the same start date and end date.
Usability and user interface enhancements
Dynamic updates after completed actions
We made enhancements to dynamically update the screen when a user completes an action that results in a data change. When a user completes any of the following actions, the grid now automatically updates and displays the remaining items that match the original filter criteria (e.g., tab, filter, text search):
- Creation of a new artifact and editing or deletion of an existing artifact
- Creation of a new collection and editing or deletion of an existing dependency
- Creation of a new dependency and editing or deletion of an existing dependency
- Creation of a new milestone and editing or deletion of an existing milestone
- Creation of a new lifecycle (including a copy of a lifecycle) and editing or deletion of an existing lifecycle
- Creation of a new trigger and editing or deletion of an existing trigger
- Creation of a new ad hoc process and editing or deletion of an existing ad hoc process
- Creation of a new standard milestone and editing or deletion of an existing standard milestone
- Creation of a new role and editing or deletion of an existing role
- Creation of a new category and editing or deletion of an existing category
- Initiation of a new deployment (Deploys tab only)
- Bulk deletion of artifacts
- Bulk deletion of dependencies
- Bulk deletion of milestones
Configuration grid sorting
To help Configuration Designer users more easily locate specific items in a configuration, we updated grid display logic to allow for column sorting on all grid columns that include alphanumeric data. When a user clicks the column header once, the column refreshes to ascending sort (i.e., A-Z or 0-9). If the user clicks the header again, the column refreshes to descending sort (i.e., Z-A or 9-0). Sorting applies globally to all pages returned for the grid.
Filter by Country, Principal Investigator and Staff level artifacts
On the Artifacts tab, we updated the available selections to help users more easily locate country, Principal Investigator, and staff level artifacts in a configuration. Configuration Designer users can now select from:
- Study Country
- Principal Investigator
100 items per page
To reduce the number of pages returned, we increased the maximum number of grid rows per page from 60 to 100, and added 100 to the "Items per page" drop-down selection options. The default setting remains 20 items per page.
Audit log CSV exports from the Deployments tab did not populate with data as designed.
After renaming a role in a child configuration and deploying the configuration to Activate, the artifacts tied to the lifecycle did not properly reflect the renamed role.
When configuring an ad hoc process, the name field enforced a 20 character limit, which did not match the 50 character limit in Activate. We modified the Configuration Designer field to now accept 50 characters.
New Known Issues
When viewing the Excel download of collections, certain datapoints may be indicated incorrectly. For instance, if a collection is ticked as "protocol version" in Configuration Designer, the download may indicate "protocol_version_scenario=FALSE."
Previously Reported Issues
Deleted lifecycles display as duplicates in the edit artifact window, which allows users to choose an unavailable artifact.
The budget create/edit page shows all collections beyond contract collections.
On the configuration list, the name of the person who created it does not display.
The dependencies tab displays an inconsistent number of results per page.
An error occurs if the prerequisite and successor artifacts/activities are the same between the two dependencies and if there is a unique attribute between them.
When deploying a configuration with features not available on the Activate instance, a hard failure occurs instead of an alert.
When exporting data from the Roles tab, the export included unexpected permissions fields.
Note: The severity definitions below conform to the Oracle support severity options users now select when creating support tickets. The descriptions below replace the previous "Priority Definitions" (low, normal, high, and urgent). With Release 19.2, we updated the Stability Improvement and Known Issue tables above to reflect numeric severity levels. With release 19.3, we will eliminate reference to low, normal, high, and urgent priorities in release notes.
Your production use of the supported programs is stopped or so severely impacted that you cannot reasonably continue work. You experience a complete loss of service. The operation is mission critical to the business and the situation is an emergency.
You experience a severe loss of service. Important features are unavailable with no acceptable workaround; however, operations can continue in a restricted fashion.
You experience a minor loss of service. The impact is an inconvenience, which may require a workaround to restore functionality.
You request information, an enhancement, or documentation clarification regarding your software but there is no impact on the operation of the software. You experience no loss of service. The result does not impede the operation of a system.
The list of supported browsers has not changed with the 19.2 release. For details, see the Browser Support article.
Help Center Transition Announcement
goBalto Help Center content will transition to Oracle Help Center in August 2019. With this transition, product documentation (release notes, how-to articles and more) will be available in both goBalto Help Center and Oracle Help Center for releases 19.1+.
To aid in the transition process, we will provide an extended period of overlap for the two solutions. goBalto Help Center will be decommissioned in December 2019.
Oracle Help Center provides simple access with no account setup or login required. Some of the features are:
- Content is searchable
- Documentation can be viewed in HTML (online) or download to PDF
- Product Change Logs will provide cumulative release history
- Easy access to documentation for all other HSGBU cloud applications
Please contact your Oracle application lead for additional information.
