This brief provides early insights into the upcoming 18.4 release of Oracle’s goBalto Activate Configuration Designer. All features are subject to change upon release. We’ve included the following sections:
- Audit logs
- Master Configuration Specification report
- Technical information
Lifecycle audit logs will provide additional information to help users better understand how lifecycles are impacted by updates to included activities. The audit log will include a new Activity Lifecycle column, which will populate with a lifecycle name when activity create and update events occur (e.g., updates in activity names and checkbox selections). When this column is populated, details of the changes will be included in the audit log’s "Changes made" column.
Master Configuration Specification report
Configuration Designer users will be able to export a Master Configuration Specification (MCS) report, which will detail an individual configuration’s components/settings and can be used for compliance and design purposes.
Configuration Designer users will have the ability to set the Document workflow field for artifacts and have the option to deploy the artifact with or without "Enable add a version" selected. When the Enable add a version option is selected (default behavior) the artifact will allow Activate users to create versions. When deselected, the artifact will not include an “Add a new document version” button in Activate.
We’ll modify Configuration Designer dependencies logic to prevent users from creating an exact duplicate of an existing dependency. Existing duplicate dependencies will be deleted automatically when a Configuration Designer instance is upgraded to 18.4. Duplicate deletion will have no functional impact to configurations as duplicates did not impact deployments or performance.
