- This brief gives you an introduction to the upcoming release. All features are subject to change upon release.
Select will now provide the ability to define how data is merged when multiple customer data sources are attached to a study. For standard Select data columns, we will define how each column will handle data merges. For custom data columns, customer data source managers will be able to define the method by which data is merged for a particular column.
Example: a custom column “Equipment list” is defined at the site level in two customer data sources as a string array. In data source 1, it includes “fMRI” and “portable X-ray”. In data source 2, it includes only “portable infusion pump” for the same site record. When both data sources are attached to a single study, and the column is defined to concatenate array values, the resulting site record will include “fMRI, portable X-ray, and portable infusion pump” for the data column “Equipment list.”
We’ll also make enhancements to reduce the number of Principal Investigator duplicates displayed in the site grid.
roles and permissions
With release 18.4, we’ll adjust CDA permissions to separate uploading CDAs and approving CDAs. The two, separate permissions will be “CDA management,” which will allow the user to upload study CDAs and “CDA Approval,” which will allow the user to view all CDAs on the document approvals page.
We’ll make the following updates to Select LITE:
- The “Please contact me for other studies in the area” checkbox will no longer display in the site profile.
- The Document Library “Status” column header will be relabeled to “Document Version Status.”
site grid interface
User interface updates for column and filter selectors will reverse the previous experience with accordion panels; with this release, all accordions will be closed when the page loads.
The Site profile, Trial history tab grid will have a new, sortable “Institution” column. This column will be available on both the Investigator and Site sub-tabs.
Select will introduce a new, explicitly permissioned “Reverse site finalization” feature, which will allow users to move a site from final acceptance to (step 3) Selected, or from Final decline to (step 3) Declined and save a note regarding the reversal.
Updates to email logic in this release will prevent re-invitation emails from transmitting to sites in Declined or Final decline states.
We’ll also relabel the workflow task “On Hold" status icon to "Discontinued" in the Select and Select LITE user interface.
study parameter filter
Select will introduce a new “trial start date” study parameter filter that can be used for studies with an attached composite data source and historical studies data. When a Select user specifies upper and/or lower date range values, the site list will include sites associated with the study-sites when the trial start date falls within the specified date range.
survey analysis CSV extract
We’ll update data formatting in the Survey Analysis CSV extract to remove unnecessary characters (e.g., remove brackets and quotes from email addresses).
For SurveyGizmo surveys, we’ll adjust scoring logic to ensure correct scoring in scenarios where the survey contains branch logic and sites can skip questions. We’ll also add alert text to the Select Feasibility Survey Mapping tool to notify users when a specific SurveyGizmo question type (single image select, multi-image select, and checkbox) does not support skip or display logic.
Because some surveys aren’t configured to end when a critical question is answered incorrectly, we’ll also update the Critical Question tooltip text on the Score survey questions page to clarify how incorrectly answered critical questions are indicated on the Survey Analysis tab.
